I went to Straight talk because they advertise "unlimited data" and I use a lot of data for work, so I thought I would save myself a lot of money. Well after only one week, my data speeds were throttled so badly, that I could barely use the internet, then after two and a half weeks, they cut my data off completely.

I tried calling them, but could never get through, so I went on the Straight Talk Forum to try and get help. Five days later I finally get someone to answer me and they told me that I had violated the Terms and Conditions, but that my data would be back to normal after I renewed my plan for next month. Are you kidding me? You think I am going to renew when I can only get data for a week out of a month.

I am now out the cost of their *** phone, and a Sim Card that I ordered online. I looked up the Terms and Conditions that I supposedly violated and one I do admit that I did. I tethered to my laptop one time for about 10 minutes. Big deal.

The other one that I supposedly violated is that I used it to stream movies. I have never done that with any phone that I have used. The truth is, by looking at the problems everyone else that has Straight Talk is having, is that you don't get Unlimited Data. If Straight talk thinks you are using more than you should, they will slow it down.

If you still use your internet, they will cut you off and give you some *** reason why they turned it off. Why not just be honest and advertise that you get 2 GB of data for $45 per month. That is still more than what most companies give you at a better rate, but instead they feel like they have to lie to get new customers. Well they lost this one and I will be talking to my lawyer about suing them for false advertisement.

I may have broke one rule, but I found a whole lot of people that haven't that still got their data disabled.

So if you are thinking about moving to Straight Talk because of their "unlimited" data plans, you will be disappointed. I guarantee that.

Monetary Loss: $150.
