Trying to add a phone to my account

Another fun encounter with their customer service. I tried to add a device to my account online.

Could not get it to work. They tried to add it, but only succeeded in removing the one phone that was in that (online) account! They have promised that it will show up in "24 hours". Do I believe them?

Not on my life!!

Every interaction I have ever had with customer service is enough to make me have a stroke. I love the wireless service, but HATE their customer service, which is the worst for any company I have ever called in my life (and I am old!).

I have two words do not buy a phone where the cebu phillipine people they k ow how to *** phone most of them *** b##### have no idea what they r doing. They mess with settings so u can't have service I went through it for 2 months. They r no good *** n#### from phillipine.

DO NOT BELIEVE THEIR "BRING YOUR OWN PHONE" PROGRAM!!!! I bought a $250 phone on ebay after imputing the serial number into the compatibility box. ST said my phone was compatible. I called in after I bought my phone because I wanted to keep my number. ST said my phone is NOT compatible! EVERYTIME I have needed to call in to their "customer service" department(I've been with ST for 5 years), it has been nothing but headache. Not only that, but they need to hire people who can speak English CLEARLY! Today, 9/22/2014, I spent 7 hours dealing with a return of an Activation Kit since I am no longer with ST. ST said that if I go to the store that I can return it there, if I just give them a phone number and extension number. I get to the store and and that extension number just goes to a tech support area of ST. Needless to say, ST doesn't authorize the return. I go home, call ST AGAIN! and finally get a authorization number that I CONFIRMED that would "authorize" the return. I GO BACK to Walmart and they call ST AGAIN and it turns out that "authorization" number was for returning it to ST in Miami and waiting a month to receive a refund check. I'm on Social Security and cannot wait for a month to receive my refund....

"straight talk" is a reseller.. there are only 4 national phone carriers in the US..

tmobile, Verizon, sprint, att

That is all there is!

Anybody you buy from is them in disguise or resold..

this site discus's cellphones all day long... if you wan to get something affordable/cheap if your willing to "learn"

S3 OS upgrade not allowed by Straighttalk

Straighttalk will not allow anyone to update the phone with the newest software. Straighttalk says go to Samsung and Samsung says it is Straighttalk. A new $300 phone and cannot get latest security fix. WHAT A RIP OFF.

This is the blog that shows how they answer the complaints. It is most always check your mail for a personal message. And the msg is to call them. they they say sorry cannot help you as we do not update phones. If this is the case, and it appears to be, then they need to state this on the box so buyer will know.

I a dealing with the same problem. Straight Talk gave the same runaround call Samsung, call Google.

Their cell service is pretty good.

But for this reason I am thinking about switching carriers. Congratulations Straight Talk wireless, you have another pissed off customer!!

I ordered a phone bundle off website at final process screen it said there was a problem with internet and the order failed. so I tried again and same message. I checked my bank account and they billed me for 2 phones and plans. when I called person on other end didn't speak English. told me to just refuse one phone from fed-ex, if the cancellation didn't work. received email stating one order was cancelled checked bank account no reverse on charges. I called again, again nobody spoke English was told I have to wait 1 to 2 billing cycles [1 to phone 2 months] to get my money back. Also told me to contact my bank.

Straight Talk Wireless - Card Purchase Review from Tampa, Florida

I have loved straight talk and have never had any problems until this month I have been with straight talk for over 3 years now.. This month I bought my $45 card as do I every month and less than 2 weeks allmy data was gone so I called customer service and asked why this happened and they cldnt give me an answer I then asked them to please credit some of my data back to my phone and I explained that my data always lasts me til maybe the last week of my service... The lady continued to to tell me she could not help me and that I needed to buy another $45 card! Are you kidding me? I had just bought one why in the world shld I have to buy another onewhen I didnt even use may data! She just kept telling me to buy a new card so I asked for cocorporate s number she then switched me to another foreign man whom said he was corporate I explained I never use that much data and it always lasts me till the last week. He then reviewed my account and confirmed exactly what I had just told him... he then kept me on the phone for another hr n a half - 2 hrs just to tell me he wld not help me! He said I used 3gb of data in one somehow! He just kept telling me I was sharing my data with a moblie hotspot what ever the *** that is! He then told me to buy another card that he couldnt help me! I will be calling the better buisness Bureau!

I have used 606 mbs of data (well within the non governed 3gb) and my data wont even load enough to run gps. Never had problems until the data usage rule introduced last mo. Switching to spint or att soon, I am a sales rep and gps is very important!

Cant activate a simple phone

I just bought straight talk home from Wal mart, having trouble activating the serial number. Drex: Hi Dave. Thank you for visiting Straight Talk Wireless. I will be assisting you today. Dave: 268435****00456689 Dave: why is this not working? this is the second time this has happened! Dave: Wal mart replaced the unit and it is still a problem... Drex: The phone is still inactive in our system so we cannot activate it as of the moment. You need to bring this phone back to Wal-Mart and let them scan again the phone or have them replace it. Dave: you people are sick and not normal!!!! Dave: i mean it, really seriouslly retarded Drex: There is no record found that they replaced or scanned it. Dave: i never want to deal with your company ever again Drex: We have the accurate tools here. Please send us the proof of purchased if you really want to activate it. Dave: i did that last time and after 20 emails, 5 faxes, a visit to Wal mart and hours on the phone, no one in your company was able to help. Dave: why is this so difficult? how do you stay in business? Drex: What is your ticket number? Dave: Ticket # 109 426 **** Dave: they said the receipt didnt have the serial number... i sent the bar code and the red serial card copy and 2 receipts and they never did anythng for me. Straight talk scamm !

Some one got a hold to my credit card info, ordered a straight talk phone and plan that came to $817.00.! Some how had the phone delivered to my house. I opened the box, there was no packing slip, or any record of who delivered it to my porch and just left it! I've called straight talk to try to return it. They are giving me the run around big time.Mean time I'm still trying to contact some one to return this fraudulent phone!. I guess the person that stole my credit card, was going get it off my porch. I beat them to that! in the the mean time I I'm still trying to reach some one at straight talk that understands and speak English! I would very much like to get this problem resolved!

Straight Talk Mobile Hotspot Ripoff

I've had a mobile hotspot from straight talk for a while now. I just called them 2 weeks ago because even with the 2 month service plan I have to call after the 1st month for them to reconnect my card. When I called 2 weeks ago I had over 2 GBs of data remaining which was more than enough to last until September 7th. The card stopped working again and I could not see my data usage again. Called back and was told I used 2GBs of data and all I did was check my email 1 day. WOW!

Straight Talk Wireless - Cell Phone Internet Review from Sebastopol, California

As far as speed and reliability go, Straight Talk's internet access compares unfavorably with a 300 baud acoustic modem. Their customer service is of comparable quality. The first month I was with them, the Walmart salespeople assured me that it would take 2 hours to port my number from Verizon. It took 72. The second month, Straight Talk debited me twice for one month of service. (I will say that they did refund promptly when I complained.) The third month, they failed to auto-bill me and cut me off. There isn't going to be a fourth month.

Straight Talk has a few kinks.

I also have straight talk. On the third of every month I go to Walmart and purchase the $45.00 card and return home. Not just some months, but every month I have to go through the reactivation process because my phone has been turned off the day before. Every month I have to unsubscribe to unwanted sales pitches via text message even though I have unsubscribed multiple times via text, email and phone conversations. I don't know about anyone else but I did not buy an iPhone for straight talk to send me ads. I have and pay for a phone that I want to use for personal reasons and not a direct advertising pipeline. Personally, this month I am leaving straight talk for another service.

Straight Talk Wireless - Iphone 5 Review

Was looking at getting a new Straight Talk phone. Got on their website, typed in my zip, started scrolling through the list. I seen they had an iPhone 5, sweet! So I said to myself, I better call because it has to be on Verizon cause at&t is terrible in my area. Called and was garunteed that it would be on Verizon. I even asked and mentioned it several times. So I got my phone today and guess what, not able to use in my area and is at&t. Now, they expect me to pay shipping back to them, want me to wait up 30 days for my $530 ($495 plus tax). They even have these phones for sale, at Walmart, 4 miles from my home. I will be looking for another carrier tomorrow. I am also thinking of contacting the Better Business Bureau and Federal Trade Commission. Does anyone else know if the county prosecutor's office has info on this?

Straight Talk Wireless - Tethering Review from Greenville, Alabama

I do not see tethering as "abuse of the system" nor do I see any valid justification of banning it in the ToS. The monthly plan is paid in full up front which includes the 3GB of high speed data (throttling to 2G service or lower beyond the 3GB). That 3GB is paid for up front and I should be able to use the data I paid for as I need. Tethering to my laptop or tablet to fulfill a specific need is no additional load on Straight Talk, no additional cost to Straight Talk, creates no increases in data speeds for the customer while tethering and still counts against the monthly allotment all the same. It is, in my opinion, purely about profit and forcing me to buy a separate device from them (the hotspot they now sell) and pay them for an additional plan that I would not otherwise need. I just switched to them 3 months ago and have been exceedingly happy with the coverage and service up until this point; I already paid for this data allotment, let me use it as I see fit. I was overcharged and hung up on SEVERAL times! They lied over and over. First is was the governments fault, then it was my fault for signing up for automatic payment which I NEVER EVER sign up for. I don't like ANYONE taking my money without my permission! I get paid different times of the month is the 2nd reason why I NEVER sign up for automatic payment. All I know is 20 years ago they would have lost their jobs for treating people the way they want! Straight Talk Wireless - Poor Customer Service Review

I have used Straight Talk for a few years now and love the service, but their customer service SUCKS. In the last thirty days I have had my data throttled before reaching the limit of 3g (which is a joke anyway), my data has been disconnected before reaching said limit, they failed to process my payment when I submitted it online, and now that my service is restored, my text messaging does not work.

I have spoken with six different agents this week, one of whom yelled at me, and two who hung up on me. The only "assistance" I receive is APN settings and to turn my phone off and back on. This never works. Several agents told me to perform a hard reset on my phone, which I did not want to do.

I performed a backup and restore, but it bootlooped so long (overnight) that the only way out of it was to perform a hard reset. I lost all of my settings and apps and...you guessed it: I still don't have text messaging. After spending forty five on the phone with an agent who first claimed to be a supervisor, then pretended to be waiting for a supervisor to take my call, I had to end the call.

I will not be recommending this company to anyone in the future. Ever.
