Straight Talk & Tracfone are the WORSE!

Ok, just when I thought I've experienced the worse company ever straight talk and tracfone have definitely topped them all. Their service and customer service both are the most horrific nightmare. I thought "well, I need a cell phone" and a friend said "try straight talk by walmart, it's only $45 a month for unlimited everything!" I thought, "wow, that's a great deal!" So, I transfer my landline/VOIP over to my new straight talk phone, yah!!! Well, it takes a while, could take several weeks, but it only took about a week or so. So, now I'm using it and everything appears to be fine until a friend texted me. I call him and he says "your phone is saying that your number is disconnected or no longer in service every time I call and it's been doing this for 2 weeks now". So, I call straight talk support and get this person that I have a real hard time understanding because they don't speak fluent english. No biggy... They tested my phone and said there's nothing wrong with it. So, I'm thinking, maybe the phone needs time to do it's thing since it's only a few weeks into the transfer deal or maybe it's just my friends' phone. About a week later another friend calls. He says that he's been trying to call me for a couple of weeks and getting the same error message my other friend was getting. So, now I'm worried. I call tech support again and get someone difficult to understand again. This time it's like 2 calls one over an hour and forty minutes. Still no resolve. Then I call a day or two later when I have more time to waste and waste more time with hard to understand people. They said they wanted me to send my phone in. I was like "I need you to send a replacement so I can at least use this some during this time". This lady said she would see if she can do that and call me back. She didn't call back and a few days later I get an empty box in the mail to mail my phone back. Now, I didn't have time to waste right away, I tried tech support again and was told they would send me a phone by the following Wednesday. I get a call over the weekend from them, they left a message. I called back that Monday before the Wednesday only to find out they still don't know what's going on. And, when Wednesday rolled around I didn't receive a replacement phone. So, more time passed and yet another friend told me they received the same message. So, I took the phone back to walmart, by this point the 15 day return policy was way past due. They worked with me though and I exchanged it to try a different phone thinking maybe it's the phone. That didn't work either. So, now I'm trying to transfer my number. I have to supply the new company a carrier, carrier password, and an account number. It took 4 hours tonight to isolate that it's tracfone, not AT&T, at least at this point it appears this way. The phone uses AT&T towers but it's a tracfone. I'm still not sure. And, after four hours I still don't know the carrier password. I was told numerous times that they don't have one. The last person I spoke with transferred me to a supervisor. I was on hold for an hour until I finally hung up, called back, and realized they're closed. So, now my number appears to be stuck with straight talk/tracfone/walmart. If anyone knows of a good lawyer, please share. I think it's time I talk to one to see if I have a case against these companies for wasting so much of my life away… surely they can't get away with this. I bet I've wasted over 10 hours easy. And, it's been horribly stressful as well. Like, I would have killed someone by now if they were standing in front of me causing me this much stress. It's just not right. These companies just don't care anymore and hire the worse people they can find to stand in front of their products and services.

stop trying cheap stuff, what cost cheap in the long run cost more. just get a contract with sprint and call it a day. I have been with them for about 9 years now.

this all started at the end of june. service was great/perfect before then. #1) I GOT A NEW PHONE AT WALMART, AND THE "WRONG SIM" WAS IN IT, AND I HAD TO WAIT A WEEK TO HAVE A WORKING PHONE SO THEY COULD SEND ME A NEW ONE. #2) I SPEND 10-15 HOURS ON THE PHONE (LITERALLY, NOT JOKING HERE) WITH CUSTOMER SERVICE REGARDING THAT ISSUE, TO GET ABSOLUTLEY NOWHERE, AND THEN I FINALLY FIGURED OUT I COULD CONTACT THEM VIA FACEBOOK. SO AFTER 15 HOURS ON THE PHONE WITH SOMEONE DOING ABSOLUTLEY NOTHING HAVING ME ENTER *** CODES INTO THE PHONE OVER AND OVER AGAIN, I STILL GOT NOWHERE. I use straight talk and changing phones just takes minutes. Do you homework and figure out what carrier works best in your area and then find out what straight talk phone uses that service.

They don't package sim cards with phones. So this story is bogus.

Straight talk steals money!!!

I have been with straight talk for over a year now I have had two phones that have broken on me (literally came apart in two pieces right in my hand)so i have decided to go for a non-slide phone and get a touch screen. I paid 14.95 for "overnight shipping" I placed the order at about 9:00am giving the warehouse plenty of time to pull the phone for shipping. It is over 24 hours later and they still have not finished processing my order which means they haven't even pulled my phone yet! I called the cooperate office and they told me I MIGHT get my phone tomorrow which will be at least 48 hours later. They refuse to refund me for my payment of overnight shipping and told me it is Fed Ex's fault that I have not gotten my phone. Keep in mind they havent even pulled it from the warehouse yet. If i could afford to go to another company I would but unfortunately I am a disabled single mother so funds are limited. I have found out however that the head person's name is Karen Calderon and her contact number is 180*-876-****. I am not sure how much help she will be since she has not called me back yet but I guess I will have to wait and see.

They charged my card twice and every time I call to get a refund they put me on hold for 30 minutes and hang up.

Then one person answered the phone told me they were getting me my refund but but me back on hold for a hour

Provides the worst Customer Service

If you buy a straight talk phone pray to God you never have trouble. I did. 16 hours of phone calls. Over 30 agents, 10 managers, 1 Senor manager and 1 person at corporate offices and I still have no phone service that has been paid for. One month of no service and the last person I talked to, a Senor Manager named Florence told me " I don't know anything ". I spoke to 42 people and I was lied to by 42 people. Walmart sells this product prounly but if you go online you find 100's of complaints that sound like mine. Boycott both companies.

I have had Straight Talk for a year and never had a problem. I had AT&T but kept losing calls so when my contract was up I switched to Verizon which ended up to be no better.

(I live in a major city) So I dropped them and tried Staight Talk.

I could not be happier. I have signal in places I never had it before and the same service for 1/2 the price!

StraightTalk is a second job HORRIBLE!

I had a straight talk phone around February and got to use it less than 3 weeks. My puppies chewed the phone, and being prepaid I never bought another one. So, I ordered their "$45 service plan with free refurb phone". Sounds like an awesome deal, right? You only pay $45 for their "unlimited" plan and they send you a free, refurbished phone. Oh, WOW! They even offered FREE OVERNIGHT SHIPPING. I had almost paid the extra $15.00 about a week earlier, but didn't have the money for any of it, so I waited a week and they were running a promo on free overnight. So I ordered on MONDAY... On their website it stated orders submitted after 3:00PM aren't shipped until next day .. I submitted mine at like 3:08PM so I was like, well whatever, it'll get here in the next 2-3 days. Waited. Wednesday I got what I thought was a shipping notice. Was expecting it Thursday. Later to find out it was actually the order confirmation. Thursday, nothing. No tracking numbers. No nothing. Friday, still nothing, but "surely it'll get here tomorrow". (FedEx delivers overnight pkg's on Sat. but not Sun.) Saturday. Get a shipping notice. With a tracking number. It'll be here MONDAY. Oh wait, they require a SIGNATURE. What means I have to be home. Monday, of course something pops up and I miss the delivery guy by literally 15 minutes (long story, but if straighttalk hadn't taken a week to ship, I could of made time) Tuesday, my wife happen to be home and caught FedEx. Finally get the phone. I arrived home at about 5:30PM to a piece of *** phone with no camera. Whatever. It was free, right? I immediately call and start trying to get it activated. I mean, I'm a freaking I.T. Consultant and the guy on the phone was making it confusing for me. Said "wait 2 hours and try again, .. if it doesn't work in 24 hrs call back" 24hrs later it still didn't work, so I said the *** with it and tried to activate it online. After that, it still didn't work, so I called and explained. Somehow, their website had applied the airtime to my nonexistent phone that my puppies had chewed, I told you about in the first few paragraphs. 3 hours later on tech support, it was 11:45PM and they closed. The non-english speaking lady was trying to basically say "screw off, I'm going home" in the nicest way. I was tired and told them make notes and I'll call back in the morning. I call back at 9:00 AM the next morning (when I wake up) 45 minutes later I have a ticket number and a "it'll work within 24 hours" 24 hours later, still doesn't work. Called back multiple times, each time I call I had to wait 15 minutes on hold. Sometimes I didn't have time to finish the calls with the people because I guess unlike I guess all other StraightTalk customers, I actually have real work to do, and don't have 2-5 hours a day to have them tell me to dial *22890 repeadedly on my phone (or 100 variants of) and enter *#0 on my "Code Entry Mode" and other random 32-digit numbers that had to be repeated 3 and 4 times because they aren't native english speakers and I can't understand half the *** they say. I tried calling Verizon just for a laugh but of course they couldn't help me (at least here, they use Verizon network) After a total over OVER EIGHT HOURS ON THE PHONE WITH THEM Yes -- a full days work -- I could of made $225 in that time I finally got it activated. This was about a week ago. At some point, one of the ladies had told me they would "compensate" me for all the trouble, which I assume mean free airtime. I called back today to check my "Balance". For some reason when I called, instead of hearing an automated "You have ... xx days .. left .. " or whatever, I get a service rep. and explain it to her. Once again, for some reason I had to stay on hold for another 15 minutes while I waited for a rep to get the balance .. ?? I explained to her that I was suppose to get 3 days of free airtime, which were not added. Back to the supervisor -- "The programming ... on your .. phone .. is wrong .. do you have .. .. another .. numba .. to call you on .. so we ca .. n .. trouble .. shoot .. your phone .." Yes, I do. After she got my house number wrong TWICE, we were finally reconnected on my house phone. Where she had me redial *22890 twice. After this, the magical issue was supposidly fixed. And she says, "So can you please check your balance for me now?" "THAT'S WHY I AM CALLING." [This had been stated SEVERAL times during the conversation, that I WAS JUST CALLING TO CHECK MY BALANCE.] So, she finally tells me June 15th, which means they didn't give me any free airtime.. But I just hung up.. I can't wait until I can afford a real contract phone again ....................

I have had Straight Talk for two years. I must admit, it can be a pain sometimes to get through to them on the phone, but I find they are the best prepaid phone period.

I also have Verizon, which I love, but it is very expensive. Straight Talk works off of verizon towers, so it is close to being just as good as verizon.

Straight Talk is inexpensive, you cannot beat the cost of this cell service. If you want to use your browser, it may be a problem getting on. However, I choose to use my laptop when I want to go online, and I hate text, so I don't use those features on my cell phone.

My phone has a camera, and takes *** pictures, but my iPad works great, and I prefer to use it anyway.

For the money, Straight Talk is the best. It is clear, and I am very seldom dropped, and up until now, I have never lost coverage.

Straight Talk will not fix their problems. Do not subscribe!!

In January, we bought 3 Straight Talk phones. Takes 3+ hours a month to keep issues resolved to keep using phones. The Phillippino Supervisors have no authority to resolve issues. We have had service disconnected, we have had Straight Talk hang up, (no, we don't swear, these are people trying to do a job). The owner of Straight Talk, TRACFONE in conjunction with Walmart, do not support customer service. The browsers are limited, and very slow. Gmail has been stopped, (Google the web to verify), you really don't have anything but a phone with screan qwetry keyboard that sometimes functions as a phone.

Straight talk shut off (permently without notice)y phone prior to bill becoming due they said because I was calling 1800 number and staying too long on the phone. Said I was violating terms and conditions ST said that I cannot reactivate my ST phone $200+ phone said I would have to buy another phone and reactivation card.

If i knew that that their unlimited data plan and calling was s big scam I would have never bought the phone the phone only works on straight talk I can't even rechip the phone. Strieght Talk has cost me over $200 + I had to buy another phone from another carrier.

I completely agree! I have been sitting and waiting for 2 weeks for them to send me an "air bill" (empty box to send my phone off).

I called them back today and they haven't even sent it yet. I was hung up on as well.

I emailed customer service an extremely long email and I got a prewritten piece of *** email answering nothing regarding my email. This company is ridiculous and full of people who can not speak english, and if they can I sure as *** can't understand them.

after getting into an argument with one of the representatives she shut my phone off after I've had it for 3 years and said that route was reported stolen when she knows it wasn't you so do I cuz I've had this phone for over 3 years she just did it to be spiteful and no one there will help me to get it turned back on

Straight Talk or bold face lying thieves.

I bought the Nokia e71 from wal-mart and have been trying to port my old ST number for 4 days now. The CS is horrible and I am told they need another 24 hours, another 24 hours and so on, etc. They absolutely refuse to refund me the $100 dollars credited to my previous phone that broke and are now telling me the phone I bought will not work in the advertised coverage area. I did check to see if the phone would work in my area before I bought it. Unfortunately it does not. I have been in contact with ST via email and phone. Alas no light at the end of the tunnel. They will take your money, the phone will not work. You will talk to someone in a different country that will have a horrible almost hateful attitude towards you. Please do not buy this product. Please don't give these scammers your hard earned money. Don't do this to yourself. Go with Virgin mobile or something. Its not cheaper in the end when your out several hundred dollars on a piece of ***.

wow, bad troubles, i know how bad their service is but i think if you try hard enough ( call at night to talk to english speaking cust reps they are nice and helpful) you should get your service up and running, For e71 the reason they wouldnt activate is since your area wouldnt have internet coverage. Happened to me so i lied about the area of service i was planing to use phone in.

Say baltimore MD, they will activate your phone. Sometimes lying and being smart helps instead of telling plain truth.

It worked though. The thing that really *** me off is that I bought a CDMA phone and they couldn't port my number? I was told I had to buy a GSM phone.

Its your own fault for buying a phone before checking coverage.

Straight Talk Phones Blow !!!!

I am a new straight talk customer and i regret my choice in this plan. It has been 3 days and i still do not have a signal or a phone number. I keep calling the customer service center and am constantly told by someone who speaks very little english that i should turn my phone off then back on every hour. After a day and a half of this i was told to wait another 24hrs to allow the phone to find a tower in my area.And guess what the results are.??? You guessed it.! No working phone.!! Now i am being told to hand upload a code given by the service rep. who now says i have to wait another 24hrs. I am cutting my loses and going back to T-mobile.

Shut service off after taking my money!

"¢ In December of 2010 Straight Talk offered a special you buy the service card either 30.00 or 45.00 and they gave you the Samsung R355C free with over night shipping. GREAT DEAL! So I borrowed my grandmas credit card(#1) which was a VISA and I ordered 3 phones. A combination of 30 cards and 45 dollar cards cannot remember how many of each. Totaling around $120.00 which was an awesome deal. So I turned around and ordered two more, with a different credit card(#2). I ordered a 30.00 card and a 45.00 card ( plus the free phones ) so with taxes my total was $80.25 this was charged to my visa not my grandmas and this was on 12-15-10. After receiving these phones I figured Id try to order my step daughter one so she could have a better phone than what she already had. I tried to order this with a different card, this time my MasterCard ending in 0968 we will call this card #3. I then got a email saying they were out of stock due to high demand. Which was okay, we had already got a great deal on the others. Then on January 8th,2010 I got a charge on the mastercard ending in 0968 for $96.30 so I called straight talk to see why this charge was on there? They told me they seen no record of the charge on their end and they used my name and credit card number. So since they did not have information on their end I was instructed by Straight Talk employees Vince and Stephanie to contact my bank and dispute the charge because with no information on their end they could not do anything. So I did that and money was refunded to the card and no issues. Then all of a sudden April 27,2011 my husband and step daughters phone quit working. I had assumed it was the bad weather we had been having but they were still not working the next morning. So I called straight talk. ( also, I gifted the other 3 phones I had ordered and I contacted those people to see if their phones were working and they were not ). Upon calling straight I was told that I have filed an invalid dispute and inorder to get my phones back on I had to pay $165.00 by money order to them. I told them that the dispute I opened and filed had nothing to do with these phones that are shut off. The dispute that was filed was on a charge of $96.30 that no one could even find record of to tell me what the charge was for and the phones were paid for by different debit cards. I told them I had the receipts and everything and I was instructed by their company to file the dispute. My husbands phone is his business phone and is printed on hundreds of tshirts and business cars and vehicles. I have spent over 8 hours trying to fix this and talked to I don't even know how many people and I do not know what to do right now because the phones are still not working but yet they were paid for by debit card #1 and debitcard #2 and the dispute was filed on the mysterious charge on debit card #3. No one can give me answers to anything. I want to know what serial numbers were activated from Debit card #1 and Debit card #2. If they could prove that, they would see they were paid for. And debit card #3 was never used to order anything because the product was out of stock and didn't even total up to $96.30 to begin with. Contact email: tdcorona09@***.com Thanks for the time!

Sorry to hear your story, and i know how painful it is to deal with straighttalk customer service. But next time keep in mind, prepaid is very useful to hide your real info that can be misused by such companies, I never gave them my real name or credit card no.

( use virtual credit card from bank of america or giftcards) so there is no way they can track back to you in such cases, never give them advantage over you since they are truely unreliable when it comes to refund.

Why bother giving them same info for all the phones you buy? Just for future, keep them in dark like they do to you.

I GOT A SOLICITATION EMAIL TO SIGN UP FOR ONE YEAR SERVICE FOR $499. I LOGGED INTO MY STRAIGHT TALK ACCOUNT AND COULD NOT FIND OUT HOW TO MAKE THIS HAPPEN. I CALLED THE SERVICE NUMBER TO LEARN THAT THE ONE YEAR PLAN ACTUALLY HAS SERVICE CHARGES TACKED ON TO MAKE IT $548.73 FOR ONE YEAR OF SERVICE. I DECIDED TO KEEP MY PHONE WITH AUTOREFILL ONE MONTH AT A TIME. THIS TYPE OF LYING CAUSES ME TO BE ANGRY. THIS IS NOT STRAIGHT TALK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I THINK OTHER CONSUMERS SHOULD KNOW ABOUT THIS. ALL STRAIGHT TALK IS DOING IS GETTING TO USE MY MONEY FOR 11 MONTHS FREE!!!!!
