Horrible service This service works great for a few days

When you do have problems they give you someone who has a problem with the english language and an attitude to boot. This is absolutely the worse service available and I'll tell anybody that will listen to me not to use it . One big problem and if you have loved ones on the road please don't get them this service as there is no reliability factor envolved with this company. My phone number 239 298 **** give it a try' sometimes it works most times /like when you really need it, it don't. I have family arriving today and a heavy schedule this lousy phone is of no help to me at all. The only thing worse than the phone is the customer service. Do yourself a favor and buy a can and string before you buy this service you sure can't do any worse.

Pay-as-you-go plan worthless

My straight talk phone was deactivted the instant my phone card ran out. I was told by a barely understandable woman in India that I would have to reactivate my phone to restore service and that I could not keep my old phone number. That number is embededed in several places so my students can call me. This is absolutely the worst phone service ever. Figures it would be featured item for Wal Mart. Do not buy one of these phones. The phone is a very good LG, the service is absolutely lousy. Another gotcha is the minimum purchase of a phone card or credit card. This is supposed to be a no contract phone, but it really costs you around $40 each month (or they will deactivate your phone). There are no rollover minutes and unless you use the phone 24/7 you are going to loose a chunk of money each month!

I have a Straight Talk Phone, and I have to GO OUTSIDE to make a call or send a text message. 90% of the time neither will work inside my house.

I called their customer service once; and the guy had me punch some codes into my phone.

It still does the same things. Anyone else have this problem?

I saw the same add, straight talk offer free ringtones but when you go to the song list it's nothing free about it. Straightalk cell phones are in the past, they use to be pretty nice phones now that everyone has one there a piece of scrap they say you can return it if not working correctly, but the truth is none work correctly and you loose your min. trying to get it straight, they should be called straightdown in trash

Unhappy Straight Talk Customer!!

I too am an unhappy Straight Talk customer. I had a Verizon account with my daughter sharing 1000 minutes between the two of us and NEVER went over my minutes. Once the contract was up, I decided to get a prepaid service selecting Straight Talk as my current provider. Needless to say, I've notice that I'm being cheated out of my minutes. For the past three months, Straight Talk stated I've either used close to 1000 minutes or I was unable to use my phone at all until it was time to refill my minutes again. In the beginning, Straight Talk provided a service which automatically indicated how many minutes were available prior to each call. I questioned why I no longer have this service and they indicated, "we just did away with it." NOT HAPPY!! I am going back to Virgin Mobile

This is not a no service contract company. this is a NO SERVICE company.

Phone broke less than a year. Two weeks still no replacement phone don't know when if ever be replaced because they refuse to tell you. If you would enjoy being without your phone for extended amount of time then this is the no service for you! And....

You lose all your info because guess what they can't transfer it again NO SERVICE. wal mart sells the phones and the service but totally washes their hand of any responsibility to their coustomers.

I'm in the same boat with u... I got the unlimeted when i had the $ but then had to get the 1000 when i didnt...

A day after i added the minutes it told me i didnt have anymore...

I had only sent 5 txt and no calls... I thnk i will just swtch to a normal plan...

#267390

why would anyone pick the plan that has minutes, they have a unlimited plan for $15 more. i get about 200 or 300 text messages a day so i would need unlimited. the only reason im not switching yet is because they dont offer blackberry phones

@PissedConsumer267390

Not everyone has a budget like yours.

#263493

Thank you for your response Devin however, I'm well aware of the $45 unlimited plan. I'm on a strict budget and as I've said earlier, if I only had 500 minutes with Verizon and NEVER gone over my minutes why this sudden change when I switch to Straight Talk.

I also found myself refilling every three 3wks as oppose to every 30days. Needless to say, I've switched to Virgin Mobile ($30-1500mins) and am happy with this plan.

#262937

Thank you Devin however, I am very aware of the $45 unlimited plan. I am on a very strict budget and at the time I figured the $30 plan was reasonable considering I never go over or come close to using 1000 min in one month. Needless to say, I now have a $30 plan (1500 min) with Virgin Mobile and am very happy with it.

#261567

its 45 for unlimited everything wyh would you pick min. instead? i spent over 150 using virgin mobile in 4days just get the unlimited for your plan all u got to do is call

And Straight talk constantly leaves messages about some chat but when I clicked on the chat it told me to call the 800 number. And funny there are never any supervisors around. And when you call it takes forever to get an agent because there's no option to actually talk to someone.

Straight talk is the worst carrier that exists as of right now. Yes, the price is amazing, but you might as well not even have a phone if you buy straight talk.

As mentioned, the customer service is in a call center in India somewhere, where whatever *** they just made a straight talk "agent" does absolutely nothing for you. The only thing guaranteed with ST is headaches, lost contacts, and having to go without a phone.

If you're going to cut costs, cut them elsewhere. You're throwing your money away here.

Straight Talk internet and picture msging not working?

Straight Talk internet and picture msging not working? I have an LG290CM straight talk phone with the unlimited plan and have been with them for over a year now and I haven't had any issues until now except occasionally unable to access the internet but that rarely ever happened until now. My Man just got the Samsung R451C Recon. + Unlimited Plan, and after setting up his phone and paring the bluetooth to my phone and his old us cellular phone, I had successfully sent him all the contacts from my phone to his new one and from his old us cellular phone to his new samsung then had text him some photos from my LG to his new Samsung. Then we paired his bluetooth headset to his new samsung and it worked great. We then decided to try out the internet on his new phone but keep getting a "Error: server not responding" or "Error: cannot resolve hostename" and we also cannot send picture messages but we can send regular text messages... What is up with this? Why isn't it working? And of coarse Straight Talk Customer Service is closed! Besides even if I called them to resolve the problem it's like talking to a robot and they are so annoying! Also when have they ever really solved an issue?! For instance we originally went to Wal-mart and bought a Samsung R355 it's kind of like a blackberry phone it's listed online for $129.99 but on sale in the store for $80.00. He got the $45 plan and we went home to activate it and port over his us-cellular phone number. We got it all done then tried to use it but it didn't work so I called the World's Greatest customer service ST and was online looking at the st website and notice they had the other phone he wanted for Free with a $45 service plan! So we of coarse wanted that deal! The Representative over the phone said he could cancel the port and cancel the current phone and told us to buy the one online and return the other one to the store. LOL the next day his Us cellular phone didn't work and when you called his number it was calling the phone that we had returned to the store! Oh that was just wonderful! We called ST and tried to troubleshoot the problem as much to our dismay we were told to go to wal-mart and tell them not to scan the phone and for us to call us cellular and tell them we needed to port back over his number to them. Well walmart scans their returns at the time you bring them back. He was afraid he's lose his number so we went to all the trouble trying to take care of *** petty things that the ST Customer Service reps were telling us to do. Us cellular told us that we needed the account number with ST in order to port the number back but ST refused to give us that info saying it was private info of ST.. I had to speak to the supervisor and deal with that. And long story short once a phone is ported out of a service provider your contract is canceled. So what does one do to deal with your Straight Talk phone problems? I wish there was an actual store where you can talk to a real live person standing in front of you rather than these robotic Arabic sounding people. I think they have a language changing machine on their computer when you call because they always sound the same when you talk to them. Additional Details My man even said while we were on the phone with them "Why do you all sound like a Robot" LOL... but they really do!

Straight Talk Wireless Phone Plan

Straight Talk gave me the straight ***

I purchased two phones on a Friday and was supposed to get free overnight Fed Ex. The web site said the phones were in stock when they were actually not. When they became available they were shipped Fed Ex ground. I called the worst customer support team ever and each time I was lied to or just given false info how ever you want to look at it. It took a week for the phones to arrive. To make up for their breach of contract on the not shipping overnight one supervisor said I would get first month free unlimited and then use the $30.00 card that comes with the phone for the second month. She said she put it in their system to reflect this. When the phones finally came the next supervisor said he could not honor that agreement and there was no way for him to track down another supervisor even with her name and ID number. We ported our old numbers and my wife's phone was up and running in 15 minutes. Mine took over 24 hours. I was told I would get a text on my phone when it was ready to use but never did. Then both of our voice mails were not accessible because of a code in the speed dial that could not be deleted. This was the worst customer service I have ever received. One lie after another. Countless hours on the phone with them for nothing. They flat lie to you and do not honor anything. I wish I never switched. The customer service is outsourced to I believe India and they were very difficult to understand at times.

The absolute worst service EVER!!! 1/Dec 6, 2010- ordered 2 Samsung phones with 2 $45.00 refill cards.

Paid w/ my Visa for next day delivery.2/ Dec 12,2010 Phones arrive. 1 phone activated properly, the 2nd phone would not pick up a signal, even sitting next the 1st phone. Called ST's terrrable CS in Phillipines got the run around for 2.5 hours. Was told to give the phone time to cycle through the system?

would be ready to use in 24 hours.3/Dec 13,2010 2nd (my wife's phone)still would not receive a signal nor would call out or in. With the same hour, my phone goes on the blink. No screen display, no power nothing...WTF? Called ST, spoke with 3 different people, and recorded the phone call mind you.

Was told that they would be sending us fedex box to send both phones back so replacement phones could be sent to us. Sounds good right? Wrong!!! We sent the phones back via Fedex on Dec 17,2010 ad Friday.4/ December 21,2010 called ST to inquire about the status of our phones.

The CSR told us that the phones had arrived on Monday Dec 20, but only one phone was in the box according to the "warehouse"(as if the warehouse was in the Phillipines) which by the way I tracked it and they were delivered to Plainfield Indiana at 11:11am on Tuesday Dec 21. not Monday. This foreign AH lied right in my ear. I called the company who received the phones from FedEx they are called Bright Point Worldwide.

AMERICANS!!! They were very friendly and cooperative with trying to help me discover where our returned phones were.As of 7pm Dec 21, 2010 we still don't know if 1 or 2 phones arrived but they say they're investigating to get the answer. In the meantime ST says they will be shipping out my wife's phone on tomorrow, but they must send me another FedEx box to send them a "note" explaining the situation, give the box back to fedex then they would decide if I get my replacement phone.ARE YOU F#$%^&@ KIDDING ME? Needless to say when the CSR said this, I was on 350 degrees and done, this after nearly 3 hours on the phone with CSR's, Supervisors, and then a supposed Manager... I've read literally hundreds of complaints on ST, and enough is enough!Tomorrow the U.S.

Dept.

Of Commerce will receive my formal complaint along with copies of every compliant I can find on line. They are either going to shape up or ship out!!!I'm also calling corporate to see if I can get some Mick Jagger. 800-876-****
