I Wanted a Galaxy SIII on the Verison Prepay Network Straight Talk Said N) PROBLEM! | Straight Talk Wireless review

I went to Walmart to get the phone and plan. They do not carry the SIII anymore. I called Straight Talk twice to confirm that I could get the SIII. They told me NO PROBLEM. I ordered the phone delivery was 5 days. I looked on the outside of the box for the CDMA-V indicating it would be on the Verizon Network. Could not find it on the box so I unpacked it could not find the markings. I plugged the phone for a couple of hours and then activated it. This is my first smart phone so it took me a couple of hours to get the hang of using it. I looked in the manual to see what was shown on the home page and found the signal strength. It was dark. I had plenty of signal on Verizon. I noticed a small mark on the left hand lower corner "LTE-S". Online I found out on line it is on the Sprint network. I called to return the phone and get the right one. Now they cannot supply the SIII on Verizon. The operator was rude, difficult to hear and I have to pay to send it back! THEY LIED TO GET MY BUSINESS AND DON'T GIVE A *** HOW PISSED-OFF I AM! THEY DON'T WANT MY BUSINESS.

Straight talk service in general | Straight Talk Wireless review from Indianapolis, Indiana

I have an iphone 4s, and after my contact ended for AT&T I've decided to try straight talk. Biggest freakin mistake ever! You will never have any signal, even when you have 3-4 bars you will begin to dial, and it will tell you phone call failed. It will drop calls at 5 bars. Half the text messages wont go out ether. They customer support is peachy as well, you can call them explain the issue, and you will never hear back from them! If i could rate them 1 to 10, i would give them -100. Take care

Switched (upgraded) phone | Straight Talk Wireless review from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania

I upgraded phones over night because I had to wait until my $45 unlimited plan became effective, which would be midnight and wanted to do it when I wouldn't be needing my phone for anything. I had been using the $30 plan on a basic phone and switched to a smartphone. I switched from an AT&T network phone to a VZW network phone. Whatever the reason (the plan or the network), the first phone stopped working and the second wouldn't program so it couldn't be used. And it was 1:30 in the morning. The thing that irritated me the most is that once morning had rolled around and was able to get somewhere to even speak with Straight Talk to get the new phone to work, I had a message from Straight Talk because they knew there was a problem. BUT THEY CALLED ME ON THE NUMBER THAT WASN'T WORKING! How *** is that??? They shouldn't disable one phone before the other works. That's a huge inconvenience. I, as many other people I know, only have a cell phone. No residential phone service, so it's near impossible to call should a situation arise. I lost no money in this but probably a few minutes off my life from my blood pressure.

Transfer service from Straight Talk to Straight Talk phone | Straight Talk Wireless review

I spent $324 on a Samsung Galaxy SII from Wal-Mart for my husband. He kept telling me that it wouldn't charge, so I took it to the repair shop and spend $48 getting a new charging port ordered and installed. Now we have a $372 paper weight because he can't find the OLD sim card, that is no good anymore, they will not change his service back to that phone. I just had the same problem last month when I tried to reactivate my windows phone that I had ported over to them and used for over a year! I called and they said I needed a new sim card, so they mailed me a new one but told me the old one was no longer any good, so I threw it away! I have now switched back to AT&T!!! Straight Talk is a piece of *** company with no English speaking reps!

Phone number changed | Straight Talk Wireless review from Asheboro, North Carolina

My service interruption date was 9-23-2013. My phone was interrupted and deactivated on 9-10-13. I purchased another card to activate my phone. It ddidn't work. I then contacted customer service, and was told to take the battery out and submitt the serial number inside the phone. My phone was then reactivated. Two days later I made calls to several of my customers, I was notified that I was calling from a diffrent number. I then checked, and they changed my phone number without my knowledge. Three days later my number was changed back. My phone was deactivated again on 10-06-13, and I was told that the service pin that I purchased on 9-10-13 was placed to a diffrent number by customer service. Now I'm out of $45.

Straight Talk Wireless Customer Care

WARNING | Straight Talk Wireless review

Here is a WARNING for all Straight Talk customers. If you are purchasing a plan online and receive any type error from the straight talk website, or you briefly loose your internet connection.. DO NOT continue the transaction. Close the browser window and start over from scratch or you WILL be double charged. The worst part is it takes 30 days to receive a refund for their mistake. Why is it "their" mistake you say? It's simple, as a full time programmer i can tell you it is a severe coding mistake that adds the same query twice to the sql database without checking for duplicate attributes. To make matters worse they are VERY aware of this issue, and have been for several years now with no attempts to correct it. Also, calling customer service will get you no where 95% of the time, as they are unable to handle the volume of calls. The best, and Fastest way to get issues resolved is to use LIVE CHAT via Facebook.

VERY poor signal almost everywhere | Straight Talk Wireless review from Harleysville, Pennsylvania

Straight talk USED to say they used the AT&T network. I bought their phone, only to find out that it uses the Tracfone network. Signal is terrible, almost everywhere outside of a major city. In the suburbs, I can drive for miles without signal. In upstate PA, I drove approx 100 miles before receiving the cache of voicemails and messages from the weekend. Wherever I go, they disappoint me. My friends phones always have signal from other carriers. DO NOT waste your money. Have Walmart activate your phone in the store, and see if you have signal before you buy it. I bet you do not.
