Difficult Customer Service | Straight Talk Wireless review from Chicago, Illinois

Like others, I tried to switch to ST to save money. I wanted the Bring Your Own Phone option to port my existing AT&T number with my IPhone. Tried to do it online myself--it didn't work. The system assigned me a new number. Next, I called CS. That number was deleted, they even sent me a new SIM to start over. Called CS so they could do it. They did the same thing--did not port my original number. I was transferred, put on hold too long. I decided lower monthly bill not worth the trouble. Call centers are a pain!

Second phone programmed to fail after 12 months. | Straight Talk Wireless review

I bought a new $200+ phone from Straight Talk that was defective. I was told to send it back for a replacement. The replacement was rebuilt with a 12 month warranty. The second phone was OK but later started randomly powering off. Straight Talk Customer Service told me, twice, that because the phone was more than 12 months old, it was programmed to fail and it was time for me to buy a new phone!!!!!! When I told them I wasn't buying a new phone every year, they said there was nothing they could do!!! Has anyone else had a similar experience?

The Sim card | Straight Talk Wireless review from Baltimore, Maryland

I tried to transfer my cell number back to my Straight Talk phone in June. The cell service that I had was not good so I went back to Straight Talk, which is where the phone number originated. I was told by them that my sim card had expired and they would be sending me a new one. That was in June. It is now August, I am still waiting, they are still telling me that I will have it in 3 to 5 business days. I have emailed customer service over 7 different times and have yet for anyone to pick up the phone and call me. Each time I speak to a representative, I have to recant this story from the beginning and all to no avail. I wonder why they can't see the notes from the last representative on my file. Anyway, they have told me on two separate occasions that the card was delivered and left on my "front porch". I told them that this was utter nonsense because someone is always home and no one delivered anything to my address. You can't reach a "district manager" because they supposedly don't have one for the Baltimore area. The representatives are very hard to understand on the phone and their attitudes are disgusting. If I gave this level of customer service in my job, I would have been fired long ago. I am thoroughly surprised to find that a company this size is so disconnected from its customers. Now, I wait.....and wait......and wait some more.

WARNING | Straight Talk Wireless review from Madison, Wisconsin

The non-accessable customer service would not matter if they had a trouble-free product. However, there are a lot of problems, so you NEED good customer service. The few pennies you save will not compennsate you for the problems encountered. 1. As a RESELLER of of the service offered by Verison, AT&T, etc., you are third in line behind the regular customers and the prepaid customers of those customers when trying to get service (the towers can only handle so many calls and somebody has to wait--- that would be Straight Talk customers !!!!!!! 2. When you can get through to customer service, their computers are often down.... and you will always be talking to someone in INDIA. In the end, they tell you that they can't help you.

Here is the deal with my experience w/ straight talk. I had Cingular for almost ten years. I do promotions for a living and have done them for many cell phone companies and although the deals sound great I never switch because I figure if something isn't broken why fix...

Complete ***. | Straight Talk Wireless review from Elizabethton, Tennessee

I recently just bought a 1 year card for my iPhone by straight talk. I paid 500 dollars & had it for 3 *** months & then one day my phone just stopped working out of nowhere, I called the *** ***'s & they said the terminated my service, because I used "too much data" me, pissed off because I wasted 500 dollars, I started to heat up a little, might I add, THERE IS NO WAY I USED THAT MUCH DATA. I Hadn't even used my phone that much & they decide to do that. Wrong. Their 45 unlimited *** is ***. Don't go to straight talk they suck & they're VERY RUDE! Not to mention, the guy I talked to said all I had to do to fix this was buy a new card, so I did 45 dollars.& when I went to put it on my phone they said I had to wait until my year service was up. So now I can not use my data without wifi. I can text & call, I just can't use Internet or apps that require it without wifi. *** YOU STRAIGHT TALK, you just lost 2 coustmers of 5 years.

President | Straight Talk Wireless review from Tampa, Florida

Exactly what EVERYONE else said. Straight Talk SUCKS! They take your money cut of your service and send you to a foreign land to figure out why you gave them your hard earned money in the first place. The owner of that *** company should be put in prison...that would be justice for many it seems. Worst mobile company do not even contemplate signing up or believing anyone at Wal-Mart who tries to talk you into it..they no not what they are talking about..Straight Talk is a full blown scam as far as im coconcerned. You will purchase devices and you can not transfer them...you are stuck and will have to repurchase new devices.guaranteed.

Frothing mad dog angry | Straight Talk Wireless review from Aylett, Virginia

Purchased a smartalk phone at Walmart. *** at Walmart said the phone I was buying would work in my area. Went to Smartalk website to set up my account, but it wouldn't let me. Something about phone not compatible in my area. Called Smartalk and talked to *** Told me my phone would work. Wanted my Verizon password to my account. I asked why would he need that? I was told they cannot proceed setting up my account without it...WTF? I then tried to take my phone back to Walmart and they wouldn't accept it because it was past their 14 day return policy.

Straight Talk Home phone RIP OFF | Straight Talk Wireless review from Springfield, Ohio

I purchased a straight talk home phone at Walmart. Was told I had to purchase a phone card to install phone. After 2 days with straight talk techs the phone would not work. Returned phone to Walmart but they would not take the phone card back. They told me to contact Straight talk which I did. After fighting with 3 or 4 people I was told to return it to Walmart and have them call Straight talk for Okay to return. Walmart refused, Straight talk is a joke and I am out $15.00. I am sure I am 1 of many who both these companies are stealing from. Many of us Seniors on limited income can not afford to throw away $15.00 from our Social Security.
