Customer Service Sux!!!!You never get to speak to a live English speaking person!

I bought my daughter a new Straight-talk phone for Christmas & went on line to transfer her phone # From Boost Mobile to her new straight-talk phone. The information told me that it could take up to 24 hrs to process the request. After 24 hrs i called Straight-talk to find out why the & was put on hold for almost an hour before i hung up. I called back & was again put on hold for about 45 mins. When someone finally answered the phone, it wasn't an American speaking person & i could tell that he was reading from a prompt, he proceeded to tell me that i should call back in an hour or 2 when a customer service representative could assist me. I called back 5 different times that same evening & each & every time was put on hold for more than 30 minutes! The customer service really truly sux!!!!

All that I can say about tracfone is that it is the most irritating situation that I have had in a very long time. I bought a card for more minutes (120 - Walmart).

They said the airtime number (scratch off thing) was invalid. Took it back to Walmart. They did give my money back. So, I figured it was just one badly printed card.

Went to Walgreen. Bought another. Guess what ... same thing.

The manager at Walgreen actually spent 2.75 hours on the phone with them thinking that he would get satisfaction. He finally realized what I had been going through and not only gave my money back, but pulled all the tracfone cards off the shelf and referred it up the chain along with voice recordings of all the conversations. I actually think Walgreen will quit them after this experience. I was finally brought to their attention.

I will be interested to see how it turns out. My recommendation ...

run, don't walk away from anything associated with tracfone. I put the phone in the garbage!

Customer Service Sux!

I attempted to transfer my phone # from a Boost Moble to my new Straighttalk phone online & it did not work. After 24 hours with no phone service, i called Straighttalk & was put on hold for almost an hour that day & again 4 different times that same evening!The 1 time that i did get thru to someone (Not AMERICAN)i was told to call back in an hour or 2 so that a representative could assist me.This is my 5th phone call today & i have wasted more than 4 hours trying to get thru to these people!!!!THE CUSTOMER SERVICE SUX!!!!!!!

Tracfone wireless shame on you

I purchased a 50$ phone (straight talk wireless) card for my 11 yr. Old son's prepaid phone and when I called to have it activated for him I sat through customer service ***. =/ it is saddening that cell phone providers hire inept customer service rep.s that cannot fufill their job requirements and solve technical support issues. I do not reccomend this service to anyone in the future as you will most certainly find out exactly what I am talking about. One dummy had the audacity to ask me to drive across town to return the card to the retailer from which i purchased it until i read to him what is clearly stated on every prepaid phone card 'non-refundable'... what unbelievable idiots =/ now they think a new sim card will fix things. After my child uses the month of service i have paid for im am going to dismember this phone with my vehicle and mail it back to them seeing as that is how much the phone and service is worth to me. Tracfone- learn to know your as-s from a hot rock and to provide reliable services to your customers!

so sad, good credit is a tool by the banking industry to encourage people to borrow money they don't actually need. It is how they make hundreds of billions in profits.

I know a number of people with "good credit" who use prepaid for the simplicity of it.

It also keeps less than disciplined people from overspending on unnecessary additional charges. Your criticism of people being intelligently frugal shows your ignorance and demonstrates that you are just another sucker for the banks.

Straight Talk Deactivated Phone

Unlimited should mean exactly what it says "UNLIMITED". His phone was deactivated for overuse of data. It cannot be reactivated even with a new SIM card, so we are left with a two-month-old $250 phone that can be thrown in the trash. I read another review where the customer's internet usage was cut off, but he could still use the phone. Fine, when you reach the UNLIMITED amount, cut off the internet service for the rest of the month, but don't render the phone PERMANENTLY useless. That is ridiculous and I am PISSED. I would not recommend Straight Talk.

Straight Talk phones/service are terrible

Took 36 minutes to pay for a new month. After the first month, the line across the top of the phone that tells how many days are left ceased working - it always says I have zero. Took almost two hours to find out no one knew how to fix that. Got phone beginning of September of 2011. 7 November I wake up to no screen. Can't get an email to the company. Refuse to call, because the outsourcers, while unfailingly polite, are scripted and can't do anything off script, nor can they get anyone who CAN help. Would love to be contacted with a resolution. The lady at WalMart was very nice, but their policy is 15 days to return the phone, and she didn't know how to reach the company except on the web site.

Following up - Sent email beginning of December to see if they could help me. I had spent 75 minutes holding to refill my minutes.

They emailed and said I should expect to hold a couple of minutes. They misspelled my name even with it right in front of them. They offered to send post paid sticker so I could send it back and they would fix or replace it. Unfortunately, I can't live for two weeks without a phone.

They tried to call me, but my phone was suspended because I HAD NO MINUTES. Yes, after I held for 75 minutes and gave up. So they called my emergency contact, and seemed baffled that I did not answer the phone. When I DO get a rep, they are scripted and cannot do ANYTHING but take my money.

Tonight I sent another email, requesting compensation. We will see how ethical they are.

I did also let them know that all of this negative publicity isn't good for them. Sigh.

Walmart info ed me that all phone cards sales are final.

I have called back and forth and did not get anywhere. I basically donated 50.00.

Straight talks horrible...read this..

So I called straight talk about a week ago wanting to change my plan from there $45 unlimited plan to there $30 1000 minute plan. I'm set up on there auto refill system and have been a straight talk customer for about 8 months. Up until now I can say I used to be pretty happy with there service, all the way up until I actually have to deal with them. When I talked to the lady on the phone, she spoke horrible English... It was so hard to understand her. She asked me to repeat things multiple times and kept saying one more minute while my system is figuring it out at least 7 or 8 times. I proceeded to ask her again, I just want to make sure that the $30 plan will not start until the end of the 30 days of service I had already paid for this month. She said it wouldn't, that the $30 would come out on September 9. Well last night I checked my account...they charged me the same day I talked to them for another months worth of service even though I still 2 weeks left on my contract. Last night to get this all straightened out....I called the customer service center to talk to them about refunded my account for the $30 because like I said I called to change my service future plan not to be charged that day...I honestly don't even think they know what there doing or how to do there job. So last night was awful. I got disconnected 3 times, I was on the phone with 3 different reps. I asked multiple times to speak to a supervisor. I repeated this story over and over again with each rep too. Finally the last lady I talked to said she was going to transfer me to the refund department supervisor (even though at the beginning of the conversation she said there was no way of refunding me). I was on hold for an hour, nooooo one ever picked up. Today I called my bank and processed a claim against them. I am getting a refund through my bank and my bank will investigate straight talk. I did however have to re contact them today in order to stop the auto refill from coming out of my account. Once again I got disconnected twice. So I had to wait on hold about 30 minutes. I finally talk to someone, got them to process "the cancellation of my auto refill". At the end of the conversation I asked her...where are you guys located out of? She said the Philippine's. So for all of the complaints I read that said they don't speak good English and you cant understand them(including mine)....that's why. And the last question I asked was how late is your refund department open? she said 11:45 central....so remember how I said I was on hold for an hour to speak to a supervisor in the refund department...THEY TRASFERRED ME THERE after hours...that's why no one picked up. How incredibly rude, and a huge waste of m time... By far there the most awful company I have ever had to deal with. Don't start service with them. You will regret it.

I have exactly the same experience as hers.When i changed my plan from unlimited to 30$, i i didnt get a service for days..the same horroble experience that i put on hold for hours and transfered from one person to another, asking the same story everytime you are transfered to another person. I also requested if I can talk to the manager because I aont have extra line to use, am just using a friends cel..but the lady just kept me on hold andd tried to fix it..a hit and miss type of fixing!!!...up to this day, i dont have yet a service! straighttalk sucks..yes they say you pay less for the service..but they forgot to say..you pay for stress fone!!

Straight talk is a joke

I purchased the nokia e 71 phone from Wal Mart and also purchased a 6 month card for unlimited talk text and data use after about 3 months I receive a so called courtesy call from them complaining i was using excessive data. How do yu have excessive use on an unlimited plan anyway. well about a month later they shut of my service and locked the phone supposedly for this excessive data use. after agreeing with them (the only way to get the phone taken care of) they reactivated the account the problem was the phone was now a brick they sent me an envelope to return the useless phone so they could send a replacement yeah they replaced the brand new one with a refurbished phone that still would not work it said sim card not valid. after yet another hour with their so called technical support they said they would send me another sim card which would fix the phone. well it arrived a week later and guess what still no phone service so yet another hour with them and they say they need to send yet another sim card in the meantime the phone service end date has come and gone. so heres the rundown 3 months service fine then the call then service interruption a month later after arguing for almost a week they sagree to reactivate the phone I purchased only to find it bricked after another few days arguing with them about my so called excessive data use they agree to send another phone it arrives dead so they send sim card 1 which does not work so now they are sending sim card 2 which probably wont work either and meantime I had to buy a replacement phone from a different company at a cost of about 200 dollars . total cost of this dis service nokia phone was 220 at the time card cost for 6 month card 250 replacement phone and service another 200 so now this 4 months of phone use is over 600 dollars and still no working staright talk phone so be warned straight talk sucks

I got tired of paying though the nose and switched to straight talk. DON'T DO IT!

Customer service is almost non existent. Problems from the begining. If you need help, good luck. You will be on hold for 45 minutes to ?

I have waited as long as 90 minutes.

Shop around for better deals, but straight talk is not it. Leaving them is even MORE frustrating.

Ironically, Straight Talk runs off of Verizon towers. I'm not sure what the contract between them entails, or if Straight Talk is just some subsidiary of Verizon, but I'd definitely watch out because of that.

Simple talk cell service with walmart

I purchased 2 phones at walmart straight talk company. Bought the pin cards with 35.00 for each phone. when i tried to acctivate the service it was impossible put on hold and know one who answers is educated to work there. the phone number goes to phillipines and only a superviser can help a little everytime i called them they alway got my information wrong as no one speaks englis well. imposible to give them anything when they always write down wrong info everytime you call you have to give them all your info again as they do not keep notes or any of your info you tell them

Straight Talk & Tracfone are the WORSE!

Ok, just when I thought I've experienced the worse company ever straight talk and tracfone have definitely topped them all. Their service and customer service both are the most horrific nightmare. I thought "well, I need a cell phone" and a friend said "try straight talk by walmart, it's only $45 a month for unlimited everything!" I thought, "wow, that's a great deal!" So, I transfer my landline/VOIP over to my new straight talk phone, yah!!! Well, it takes a while, could take several weeks, but it only took about a week or so. So, now I'm using it and everything appears to be fine until a friend texted me. I call him and he says "your phone is saying that your number is disconnected or no longer in service every time I call and it's been doing this for 2 weeks now". So, I call straight talk support and get this person that I have a real hard time understanding because they don't speak fluent english. No biggy... They tested my phone and said there's nothing wrong with it. So, I'm thinking, maybe the phone needs time to do it's thing since it's only a few weeks into the transfer deal or maybe it's just my friends' phone. About a week later another friend calls. He says that he's been trying to call me for a couple of weeks and getting the same error message my other friend was getting. So, now I'm worried. I call tech support again and get someone difficult to understand again. This time it's like 2 calls one over an hour and forty minutes. Still no resolve. Then I call a day or two later when I have more time to waste and waste more time with hard to understand people. They said they wanted me to send my phone in. I was like "I need you to send a replacement so I can at least use this some during this time". This lady said she would see if she can do that and call me back. She didn't call back and a few days later I get an empty box in the mail to mail my phone back. Now, I didn't have time to waste right away, I tried tech support again and was told they would send me a phone by the following Wednesday. I get a call over the weekend from them, they left a message. I called back that Monday before the Wednesday only to find out they still don't know what's going on. And, when Wednesday rolled around I didn't receive a replacement phone. So, more time passed and yet another friend told me they received the same message. So, I took the phone back to walmart, by this point the 15 day return policy was way past due. They worked with me though and I exchanged it to try a different phone thinking maybe it's the phone. That didn't work either. So, now I'm trying to transfer my number. I have to supply the new company a carrier, carrier password, and an account number. It took 4 hours tonight to isolate that it's tracfone, not AT&T, at least at this point it appears this way. The phone uses AT&T towers but it's a tracfone. I'm still not sure. And, after four hours I still don't know the carrier password. I was told numerous times that they don't have one. The last person I spoke with transferred me to a supervisor. I was on hold for an hour until I finally hung up, called back, and realized they're closed. So, now my number appears to be stuck with straight talk/tracfone/walmart. If anyone knows of a good lawyer, please share. I think it's time I talk to one to see if I have a case against these companies for wasting so much of my life away… surely they can't get away with this. I bet I've wasted over 10 hours easy. And, it's been horribly stressful as well. Like, I would have killed someone by now if they were standing in front of me causing me this much stress. It's just not right. These companies just don't care anymore and hire the worse people they can find to stand in front of their products and services.

SO AFTER 15 HOURS ON THE PHONE WITH SOMEONE DOING ABSOLUTLEY NOTHING HAVING ME ENTER *** CODES INTO THE PHONE OVER AND OVER AGAIN, I STILL GOT NOWHERE. I use straight talk and changing phones just takes minutes. Do you homework and figure out what carrier works best in your area and then find out what straight talk phone uses that service.

They don't package sim cards with phones. So this story is bogus.
