Dont be fooled | Straight Talk Wireless review from Germantown, Maryland

I have never written a complaint before but straight talks lack of customer service got me so mad that I'm gonna write my first. We switched my daughters phone from at&t to straight talks "unlimited" plan to save money. For the first 9 months all was well then 20 days into the month they shut the internet off, no warning calls, texts, nothing so I called there so called customer service. First you can barely understand any of them but what I finally did get out of them is that unlimited is really 1.5 gigabytes. Supervisor said she needs to use wifi and that we have to buy another card to get internet back on before transferring me to the bogus recording others have referred to. They should be sued for false advertising. My wife and I were gonna swap over next month but they won't get a dime of my money now!

Straight talks unlimited data is bullsh!t I had them for about 6mo. I work shift work 12hr with quite a bit of downtime so I would watch netflix and youtube quite often on my phone, they cancelled my PHONE for using to much data, no tethering just an android phone.

the only way to continue using there service would me to buy another phone. Straight talk=Scam read the fine print.

Switched to Sprint, unlimited data no slow slow downs on my speeds. Yea I pay more but at least there advertising is honest.

I ADDED 30 HOURS TO MY PHONE THAT HAD 4 HOURS LEFT AND IN THE END I LOST 4 HOURS , I CALLED TECH SUPPORT AND THEY WOULD DO NOTHING ABOUT IT. THIS HAPPEENED LAST MONTH ALSO, STRIGHT TALK IS THE WORST PHONE COMPANY PEROID. THE TECH SUPPORT IS THE WORST EVER, ON THEIR END THEY HAVE OUT SOURCED AND THE WOMEN CAN BARELY SPEAK ENGLISH, SHE WOULD NOT HELP ME , AND I END UP WITH LOSING 4 MORE HOURS FROM A COMPANY THAT MAKES MILLIONS, AND HAS ZERO TECH SUPPORT, TO THE GENERAL PUBLIC STAY AWAY FROM STRIGHT TALK.

Unlimited Service, What A Joke!!!! | Straight Talk Wireless review from Mineola, Texas

For All those who did not know this, cause I sure did not. Straight talk SAYS unlimited talk, text, and WEB; but in reality it is not. My internet was cut off today for high usage while I was out of town with no wifi for six weeks. If you call customer service all they do is send you to some bogus recorded message that states that they implemented this on May 31, 2013. The problem is they did such without notifying their customers. This is outrageous, why pay for unlimited if that is not what you are truly getting. If you have straight Talk or are considering getting it I strongly urge you to consider this when purchasing. They will not reimburse me for the false advertisement and they refuse to turn the internet service back on my phone until this service plan runs out in July. I purchased the three month plan prior to leaving for training and was never informed and cannot find any form of notification. They say my only other option is to buy a new BYOP sim card from them at an additional cost. This is truly one of the worst customer service departments, I have ever spoke to!

This customer is telling the truth. Straightalk is full of false advertisement and nobody will help.

Walmart say they give Veterans they do not. My son was in the field they turn his data off and told him to use military WiFi. To the customer whenever your card runs out they are not going to turn your web on. This happened to my son.

I called straight talk myself and the supervisor told me his system don't make mistakes only my race of people did.

Straight talk will never get $ for our service again. I rather pay more $ than have problems from them.

I was trying to switch a number from Metro PCS(another company I would not recommend)to Straight Talk. I am too exhausted from the ordeal to give a blow-by-blow account, but after 3 days and more frustrating phone calls than I can remember, I finally told the customer service rep to just give me a new number and she couldn't even accomplish that. I gave up, lost my $45 for the first month, and went to T-Mobile ( so far, so good with T-Mobile). Straight Talk has the worst customer service I have ever encountered. If you have any tendency toward suicide, Straight Talk could push you over the edge.

Seven Days to Activate Service (lie after lie) | Straight Talk Wireless review from Fitzgerald, Georgia

I bought a Straight Talk phone on May 31, 2013. I called that night to activate. I called the number provided on the card. They ST representative told me my phone would be activated Monday. I didn't hear from them by late aferrnoon Monday, so I called my former service provider (SouthernLinc who is great and only left bc. they lost nationwide service) and they said ST had seen request to port number in wrong name. I called ST back and they said they were aware and would send request again. ST had this information early Monday morning. They told me my phone would be activated Tuesday morning. I called on Tuesday because the number I was provided to call for activation said my phone could not be activated. The representative told me my phone would be activated by 3:oo p.m. EST. I called them back around 4:30 EST because my phone still would not activate. They said (after transferring 5 or 6 times the least of all my calls) that my phone would be activated at 8:34 P.M. EST. I did not even bother to try Tuesday night. Wednesday around 11 a.m. EST I tried to activate, to no avail. I called them back and they began the transfer, transfer, transfer, lie, transfer, lie routine again. Finally after about 8 transfers and 2 supervisors, I was told there was a problem and it would be another 24 hours. What was I going to do send lightning bolts down the line and strike them dead (oh how I wish), so I said fine. I called the activation number around 3 P.M. Thursday - no activation. I called again and got the same run around. It will be another 24 hours. I hung up and called ClarkHoward.com's complaint line. Sara was very helpful. She told me they were getting lots of complaints. She suggested (strongly) that I call Georgia Public Service Commission first thing on Friday (this is still Thursday and I plan to call in the morning). She said she would pass my complaint on to Clark. On a whelm, I decided to call ST back. When I finally got a rep. I didn't give him a chance to talk. I told him I would be seeking legal advice and would contact Georgia's PSC first thing in the morning. I went on to say they might want to see if they could push that "***" (excuse th language but I was very frustrated and angry by that time). She asked to place me on hold (what else in new!!!), I said what choice did I have? Within 2 minutes my cell was activated. She never came back on the phone. I hung up and tried to call again, got a rep, told him my story again. He said (as many others had) let me transfer you to my floor supervisior. I left the phone on the counter for over 20 minutes and was never reconnected to anyone. This is inexcusable. This is a WalMart supported company and they should be held accountable.

Straight Talk Wireless OMG!!! Nightmare!

I made the mistake of ordering my first Android phone as it was practically free. it was ordered for my birthday by family and of course arrived the day after! I open the phone and charge it up per instructions, then change my number over to it. I made my first call and about 1 minute into the call, the phone starts heating up and by minute two, was burning my ear!. I immediately changed my number back to my old phone and called the Customer Service number. There was so much noise from all the other CS people in the room there, I couldn't hear the person I was speaking to. Turns out the so-called CS for Straight Talk is in a Foreign Country! I spent 35 minutes on the phone with her trying to get her to understand that this was not only a defective phone, but a dangerous one, that I thought it might have caught fire. She told me she was making out a return ticket. She then said that she was transferring me to a department that would send me a packing slip to return the phone and I was promptly disconnected. I had to go through the entire 35 minute thing again with another CS person because, guess what, she never made a note on the account! Then, this person transferred me to another department that said, no, you wont be getting a packing slip because YOU have to pay to ship the defective phone back!!! I was hopping mad, so she transferred me to another place this time a manager. Again, no ticket and I had to go through the whole thing AGAIN! So now, I had been on the phone for about an hour and a half. He could hardly be understood because of the accent and I asked him if Straight Talk would comp me on the shipping. No! This is what you have to look forward to with Straight Talk. The worst of the worst! I saw another posting here that gives the number for a Better Business rep at Tracfone in Miami which is the parent company. The poster said the BBB rep took care of her so I am going to call tomorrow. You have been warned. Don't use Straight Talk!!! Walmart is just as guilty by the way, I called them to complain and asked for the office that handles Straight Talk. The CS rep refused and only offered to leave a comment. I will let yall know what happened..

1. If this is the only foreign support you deal with, you either never call any support number or have very good luck.

2. Androids are not made by Straight Talk, the phone messing up isn't their fault. You should have looked into replacing it or getting another.

3. I don't blame them at all for not compensating you on the shipping. You wanted the faster shipping, it was optional and wouldn't have been used if you hadn't wanted it there faster.

4. Good luck with the BBB representative, please let us know how it goes ,)

After 7 calls to a non customer service dept., none of the non- English speaking reps. could determine a fix for my problem. The phone could not use SD memory Only 157MB of memory is usable. Phone was under warranty and needed replacement. They would replace the phone within 2 weeks after receiving the defective phone. That would mean 3 weeks with no phone. LG phone. They do no support the warranty on their phones. The actions they had me take were not even specific to my phone, rather generic fixes that appeared to be read from a script. Buyer beware!!

Don't Receive Texts Until Much Later | Straight Talk Wireless review

When I first got this phone, it worked great. Then all of a sudden, my phone has the 1x box in the corner ALL THE TIME. I still have a signal (a good 3-5 bars) but I'm not receiving my text messages until much later-usually anywhere from fifteen minutes to an hour after it was sent-and my phone just stores it until it decides it wishes for me to receive it. In addition, I cannot access my internet since I can't get the 1x box to switch to EV. It has worked just fine for the six months I've had it. Why all of the problems now, wherever I go?
