Worst custom service | Straight Talk Wireless review

Straight Talk has the worst customer service. I have spent three days and many hours try to reach a customer service person, all I have received was recording and the message telling me to call back and hung up on me. My daughter encountered same result. She desperately needs help in solving the problem for swapping to a new phone. It has been three days, she has not been able to reach a live customer service person. What kind business model is this? Do they care about their customers at all? Is this a Chinese company? I am really unhappy with them and will tell everyone about their terrible customer service.

I too am a victim of the "Straight Talk Bull ***" I have been a loyal customer with them for the past 8-9months. My phone service ran out on the 11th and I purchased a card on the 12th, 4 days later I don't have a phone. I live in the sticks and we can't get a landline...

They advertise their plan as "unlimted"? It's bull ***. I got a really nasty and threatening voice mail telling me to back down my usage and call an 800 number. They proceeded to ask me a series of questions designed to make it sound like I like I was abusing the...

Customer service SUCKS | Straight Talk Wireless review from Phoenix, Arizona

I had coverage issues with my ST service that was using ATT cells so I bought the T Mobile sim card through ST and switched service over. Lost phone service immediately and could not get service back. After 15 hours I decided to call technical support, talked to one guy for over an hour after waiting 30 minutes and got nowhere, tried calling again and waited over two hours on hold and finally gave up. They have NO CUSTOMER SERVICE period! They are completely under-manned and can't handle the volume of calls. DO NOT SWITCH as it is not worth the few dollars you save.

Was switching from AT&T to Straight Talk. Bought a Sim and the $45 unlimited plan. I wanted to see if my phone was unlocked so I called tech support up and made sure that if I activate my SIM I would be able to transfer my number later. the Indian tech support...

Thanks for the heads up. Gotta switch from Cricket.

Dropped calls have nearly ruined my business.

I thought Straight Talk would be the solution. But I don't think so now.

No customer service, Monthly air time card won't activate. | Straight Talk Wireless review from Diana, Texas

After adding a new air time card, the phone has not worked since. When calling customer service, I get a message that they can't answer my call due to heavy call volume. Guess there are a lot of unhappy customers... On day 4 of continued calling, I finally got a person on the line after 45 minutes on hold. She reset the airtime, and it worked until the next morning and went out again. So, after purchasing a new phone, going through the hassle of setting up the account, and now loosing $30.00 on a phone card and being without service for a week, I gave up and went to Verizon...

Been a Straight Talk customer for about 8 months now, and this will be my last month with this carrier. What initially made Straight Talk attractive to me was their promise of unlimited talk, text and web for only $45/month, and being able to use my AT&T...

Straight Talk should be so ambiguous with their ToS terminalogy. They should provide concrete examples of "excessive" data usage.

When you get your data cut, out of the blue, of course you are going to sever ties with the company. I suppose they scam 1 million people out of $45, then they turn profits of roughly $45 million.

I purchased a Straighttalk phone and 30 day service card directly from Straighttalk. I did this because I wanted to deal with the company directly and have them see me as a trusted customer. The FedEx box arrived in good time. As per instructions to activate the phone,...

Unfortunately, from what I have experienced with Verizon (not using ST), AT&T & Sprint - there isn't any service provider who will try to work ANYTHING out with the people who are individually and wholey the reason they have jobs with companies who make huge profits by, quite literally, screwing said customers out of their money in many unethical and even illegal means.

Example taken from a page in my past while having been a Verizon customer for several years (before AT&T or Sprint): I had an unlimited plan that was a set price of $129.99/month at that time. I NEVER HAD A BILL LESS THAN $240.00 - even after downloading the custom ring-tones during the first month. In fact, without ever missing a payment or adding anything additional to said tones my bill suddenly began rotating from $400+ to $800+ each month after I had just renewed my two year contract. At that time the so-called "SET MONTHLY RATE" (without the miscellaneous federal fees and taxes that ALL landlines or mobiles tack on) went up to $139.99/month. I IGNORANTLY paid whatever extraordinarily insane amount that was on my monthly statement for over a year! I knew there was a big rip-off happening but I was literally too busy trying to get my new business in the black while trying to find out what my (then) husband was covering up - I should have just handled my finances and left him but -- I was an ***!

When I FINALLY took the time to address the thousands of dollars piledged by Verizon, I was told my bill was (at that time over $800.00) so high because I had missed a payment sometime back. Keep in mind that, had that actually been true, I was on an unlimited plan set at $139.99 plus fees/taxes so IF I TRULY MISSED ONLY A MONTH'S PAYMENT AT ANY TIME my bill would have only been just over three bills the following month. MY BILLS WERE NEVER IN THE THREES! They went from the two hundred somethings right to the four somethings then LITERALLY SWITCHED FROM FOURS TO EIGHTS BACK TO FOURS BACK TO EIGHTS like a scheduled rotating rape of my finances.

What this clown didn't know is I keep "hard copy files" for EVERYTHING. When he said I had missed a payment I opened my file cabinet and verified that I was, in fact, up to date so the obvious attempt to nail me in through my out-door was just as I already knew for much longer than anyone (including me) should have ever allowed to happen.

I told him I had proof along with Verizon issued payment confirmation numbers that I was totally current and then asked him what the fax number was for me to fax my records proving they were not only mistaken but so inaccurate and unexpkainable with their math that - realistically - THEY OWED ME a *** ton of money.

He refused to give me a fax number and refused to escalate my call to a supervisor so I hung up on him and went to Sprint's much cheaper unlimited plan. As for connection/dropped calls... They didn't coin a cliche of, "Cheaper's not always better," because it sounded cool...

New phone service inoperable | Straight Talk Wireless review from Corinth, Vermont

Activated new service last Thursday. The voicemail feature does not work, and the phone is password protected from making changes. Have been on the phone with different representatives several times for over 5 hours. Each time I noted that they disconnect the call after 40 mins. of being unable to fix it. Also, each time they go through the same list of trouble shooting. I have used the online complaint tracker, but their response refers me to the "800" call center. Their online site fails to allow me to "track" my complaint despite stating that one may do so. They fail to acknowledge my request for a manager to discuss a new phone, etc.

Almost charged 5+ times | Straight Talk Wireless review

I have had ST for 3 or 4 years now, and haven't had any problems until recently. One day, I received a text that I had been enrolled in auto refill. I already bought a card for the month so I called and unenrolled. Less than an hour later I got 4 more texts that I had been successfully enrolled in auto refill. I called and asked how this happened, and they said "someone with your information must have done this" no one has my credit card number, email, and password to ST except ST. I had to call and cancel my credit card to avoid getting charged 5 or 6 times for one month, as the service doesn't stack.
