Straight Talk Wireless Service Plan Review from Saltsburg, Pennsylvania

Every time i go to add a service plan to my phone its a hassel. First, my phones service stops entirely. Internet, texting, email, and phone service are no longer functional. Then i have to listen to some raghead read *** off their computer screen about outages and how i somehow messed up adding a new service plan when its their fault since they are the ones who added it for me. Or, how the problem needs to be addressed by another department and they arent in until monday- even though its only wednesday when i file a complaint. All of you working for straight talk deserve to be executed like the lowlife maggots you are, and God help you should i find my life is coming near its end. I'll take as many of you criminal *** with me as possible. *** is a lonely place.

If you are thinking about going with Straight Talk - think again! If nothing goes wrong it will be fine, but if you have an issue and have to deal with their Customer Service the savings is not worth the trouble. They will say they will fix the issue but they do not follow through. I bought a years’ worth of Straight talk last February and paid around $150.00 for a phone. The phone quit charging about 6 months later. I called Straight Talk and they confirmed that my phone was under warranty. They said they would e-mail me an Airbill within 24 hours to send my phone to them free and as soon as I they received my phone they would send me a replacement. Great so far, unfortunately it took almost a month of me calling almost every day before they finally sent me the Airbill. A little over a week after they received my phone, I called Straight Talk let them know I had not received the email with the Tracking Number. At first said they said they had sent it. I insisted they tell me the tracking number. They gave me an incorrect one and when I called back the tried to give me the one I used to send the broken phone to them. They finally said they had filled out the wrong form and had not sent it yet. They told me they had corrected it that my model phone was in stock and I would get it in 3 to 5 days. They promised I would get an e-mail with the tracking number in it within 48 hours. This has been going on for well over a month. I call when I do not get the email then when they cannot provide a tracking number and I get the 3 to 5 day line sometimes with them saying it was in stock and will ship the next day other times they say it is out of stock right now but should be mailed in 3 days. Every time you ask a question you are placed on hold. The last time I asked to speak to a manager I was placed on hold for 4 hours and then told the manager would call me back later that afternoon. I was never call back any time they said they would. Yesterday they said the problem issue is that one warehouse has my model but the other does not and they have been ordering it through the wrong warehouse. I was again told they would mail it the next day (Tuesday) and I would have it no later than Friday. I no longer believe anything they say. I guarantee that if you have any issue Straight Talk Customer Service will make you wish you had paid a little bit more each month to get with a company that will follow through on what they tell you and not keep feeding you lines!!!

This company is fraudulent and will steal from you. My sim card was deactivated after my number was switched. I informed them I was switching my number but keeping my service with them. I was told I could order a new sim and I would still be able to use the remaining services I had paid for. They switched the number but expired my sim card and then after speaking to a new CS rep I was told that my services had been deactivated as well. So I paid my bill on the 16th and on the 26th they deactivated my account and told me that even with a new sims card I could not use the services that I had paid for. I will be reporting this company to the BBB, this is a very unrealistic practice and this is not the first time they cheated me and stole my money, this would be the second time.

I just spent time trying to fix an issue with them as well. I ordered my next years service.

This years will run out on October 31st. I kept getting text messages that my service will be running out on the 31st and to login and purchase my new plan. I did just that and lost the last 6 days of my plan for this year. I called them on it and they said that they could not fix it.

It's just an update in the database. I talked to 5 different representatives and the last one was for refunds. They said they could not refund me the $540.05 which is what it is for a year with all the taxes. I figured if they refunded the money I could just purchase again on the 31st when my year would have been over.

But they said they could not refund me either. So not only will they not fix the loss of 6 days but they won't refund either. I emailed them and told them I'll give them 24 hours to fix the issue, if it's not fix I will report them to the BBB and the FCC.

I hope they fix it. They should not punish me for following their instructions to purchase in their text messages.

I have been with Straight Talk for a number of years and never had a problem connecting to the Internet until I received that notice of an upgrade. My service truly was unlimited up until that time. Maybe my terminology as a consumer is lacking (but) it only adds to my frustration to feel as if when I complain about a change in my service I'm made to feel like I don't know what I am talking about. I don't know the technicalities as to why I went from having great UNLIMITED service to this lousy half way through the month and it's gone that I have now. But to call me a liar, which is essentially what they are now doing messaging me through Facebook "We do not offer unlimited high-speed data" then following that statement up with " You will need to add a new service plan to restore the high-speed data" pretty much sums it up. Yes, I did have high-speed but if I want that same service, the price has risen and now covered under a so-called "new" service plan. Don't you think it would better suit your company to be truthful rather than hide behind terminology trying to fool your customers? Why didn't Straight Talk just come out with it and instead of sending out a text that sounded as if I were being given this really great addition to my service then just say "The cost for your unlimited service has gone up?" Why was there no mention in that text of "Unlimited data* (meaning) first 5GB of data at high speeds, then 64Kbps"? Shame on you for calling a consumer a liar.
