Well folks, Straighttalk has changed my mind. I haven't had any problems with my phone or service, until now.
I need a newer phone so I ordered one directly from Straighttalk website. I received it a few days later, and after 3 days, some features stopped working. I contacted customer service and the phone was diagnosed as defective. I was provided a UPS shipping label to return it, which I promptly did.
Yesterday I called called customer service to find out what is taking so long to receive a replacement. I see many of you have had this same experience. The initial customer service rep confirmed my replacement still has yet to be sent, and that he did not know when it would because all that is done "at the warehouse." I then asked for a refund so I could go buy a new one at Walmart. The rep advised they could not give me a refund since I had not asked for one before sending the phone in for replacement because there are "two separate procedures involved." (Then why aren't customers made aware of that beforehand, or that a replacement phone could take weeks?) I asked for his supervisor.
I wound up talking to two different reps who claimed to be supervisors. All of them said I would not get a refund. One even boldly said that's the way it will be and there's nothing I could do about it. Yes, Straighttalk has changed my mind.
See, I had been recommending Straighttalk to others, but now after my ordeal with cusomer service, I wouldn't buy a pencil from Straighttalk! I will be contacting consumer affairs of my attorney generals office to file a complaint.
I encourage every one here to do the same . Maybe with enough complaints Straighttalk might be investigated for the shyster company it is!
