Straight Talk Wireless - No proration when changing plans
Straight talk does NOT prorate when changing plans. You need the $45 plan for smart phones.
If you already have the $30 plan, wait for the $30 anniversary or you will get charged more than $45 for the upcoming month. Worst case is having just paid the $30 for the next month and you want to switch to the $45 plan, the new $45 plan starts immediately and you get zero credit for $30 that you just spent. Also take control while transferring plans by getting out of "Auto Refill".
You can switch back to automatically have pavements deducted when the transition is complete. You don't have to do any of this if you do not mind getting charged without the benefit of proration.
Monetary Loss: $45.
