My boyfriend has had straight talk for 2 years and this has never happened to us. I just switched from Verizon to straight talk last week.
We do all the activating and card renewals ourselves. The old saying "If you want something done right just do it yourself" does apply here. I have heard and experienced their customer service. I left Verizon wanting to save money, knowing I would give the "good service" up.
It is really very simple to do on your own. The also have an "App" you can put on the phone to simplify it your monthly renewal.
If you are planning to switch to straight talk, get the phone insurance they offer....do everything yourself. You for sure are not paying to get good service.
