I was rewarded 7000 rewards points by adding another phone to my account. I received a text on 7/29/21 congratulating me on my new balance of rewards points of 7233 and that I could redeem them for free stuff like add on data and monthly service plans etc.....I tried to redeem some of them for a months service since I was in a financial crisis, so I followed the link your company provided to redeem points.
I was not able to use the points because 7000 points were pending, which was not indicated in the text. I called costumer care to ask about the points on 8/22/21. The Straight Talk Rep, Darrin, stated they would be available 60 days after the purchase of the phone and second line, which would be 8/26/21. My service was extended by 4 days by Straight Talk so I would be able to redeem points for a months service on 8/26/21.
I was advised by the representative 8/26/21 was the end of the 60 day waiting period and points would become available. I waited until 8/26/21 and tried to redeem the points again and they were still pending, therefore, not available. Rewards points never became available on 8/26/21. I was assured by the Straight talk Rep the points would be available.
I waited until the next day and my service had become inactive and the points were gone. I then called Customer Care again on 8/27/2021. The representative then informed me these points were no longer available for me to use since my phone was not active. Needless to say I no longer have any phone service since I couldn't redeem rewards points I was awarded.
I am no longer a Straight Customer and won't recommend them to anyone. I was lied to and misled by the Straight Talk Reps and they did not honor the rewards points as they promised. If the points would have been available, my phone would have been active.
Now I'm being told my rewards points will not be rewarded since my phone was not active for 60 days. I'm extremely upset about not being able to use the points and feel I was seriously misled and lied to.
User's recommendation: Don't waisted your money with Straight Talk.
Monetary Loss: $700009.
